Late Shri Abhaykumar Bharadwaj
Late Shri Abhay Ganpatram Bharadwaj entered the legal profession out of necessity and went on to build an extraordinary career in advocacy. Beginning his practice in the lower courts of Rajkot in 1980, he emerged over the decades as a formidable presence in the profession, mentoring generations of lawyers and shaping a culture of disciplined legal work.
He appeared in several matters of public significance and was later nominated as a member of the 21st Law Commission of India in 2016. He also served on the Search-cum-Selection Committee for the Presiding Officer of the Central Government Industrial Tribunal and became a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha in 2020.
His passing on 1 December 2020 marked the end of a remarkable era in advocacy. His legacy continues through the institution he built, the lawyers he mentored, and the values of preparation, courage, and responsibility that continue to define the firm.
Adv. Ansh Bharadwaj currently leads Abhay Bharadwaj & Associates at Rajkot. After obtaining a BBA LL.B. (Hons.) degree from O. P. Jindal Global University, he completed a postgraduate programme in Leadership, Politics, and Governance from the Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership.
Before returning to Rajkot, he worked in Delhi with senior public figures, after which he joined the chambers of Late Shri Abhay Bharadwaj and began practice in the trial courts of Rajkot. Following his father’s untimely demise, he assumed leadership of the firm and has since been associated with several high-profile matters while continuing to guide a large legal team committed to service and serious advocacy.
